FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—FORT WORTH, TEXAS—Circle R Media today announced the opening of a new 48,000-square-foot video, film and audio production facility equipped with the latest media technology. The first of its kind in the D/FW Metroplex, its unique capabilities combine cutting-edge video production, animation and graphics studios.
Along with three spacious studios, each large enough for staging television/film productions, the Circle R Media facility sports the newest animation, motion capture and 4-D design and production capabilities. It also offers Circle R Media’s clients enhanced capacity for national television spot production.
“Our new Circle R Media facility offers a video production resource with the size and technological capacity normally found outside of Texas,” said Chairman Mark Roberts. “But we provide all that capability right here in America’s heartland, where clients can enjoy cost advantages in a more convenient location.
“This new facility gives producers, directors and production managers access to live-TV-quality and film-quality production,” said Tim Davis, Circle R Media’s chief operating officer. “For example, our fully modular digital video, audio and machine-control router moves high-speed signals from up to 128 locations throughout the facility, making it easy to control complex production from a single point.
Sound quality is unparalleled in the Southwest,” Davis added. “The sound-critical areas, including the sound stages and adjacent audio and video control suites, are isolated using a dual-floating-slab system designed to provide a true vibration-free environment.
“The stages are equipped with wireless microphones and intercoms for ease of floor direction, and are fully wired for telephone, data, triax, audio and video,” Davis added. “The graphics/animation studio uses dual Xeon processors running on a gigabit backbone server. This technology, which is best-of-class among any broad-based production facility in the Southwest, provides what we call a ‘render network’—eight dual-processor servers that hasten the production of animation sequences.”
Top-Notch Production Facilities … Fort Worth Style
Designed by the nationally recognized Russ Berger Design Group, which has created technical environments for literally thousands of leading recording, broadcast and creative production facilities, the new Circle R Media production complex boasts three sound stages ranging in size from 2,100-3,800 square-feet, nine video/audio edit suites, video and audio production control rooms, audio post production and recording sound booths, engineering lab, conference room that seats 30, graphics, duplication/replication rooms, tape library and archive, dressing areas, commissary, master control room, and office area for 15 employees.
More important than the space, though, are some truly advanced technological capabilities run by people who know how to draw the best from them for client productions. Two examples of this are the advanced motion capture laboratory, which can handle up to five “mo-cap” figures in a single shoot, and a 4-D video process capable of producing amusement park-quality videos and studios for retail, sales motivation and other corporate applications.
“Circle R Media’s wireless motion-capture system, or ‘Mo-Cap,’ is used to create lifelike movement in animated characters,” said Steve Dunning, executive producer and director. “And our advanced motion-tracking software allows us to analyze film or video and seamlessly incorporate special effects.”
CRM also specializes in another innovative technology, “4-D,” a video-production process that puts viewers squarely in the middle of the “action,” right down to the sensory “ticklers” that create experiences far more realistic and involving than 3-D. These sometimes include synchronized water sprays, bursts of air, and other enhancements such as seats that move both horizontally and vertically. The technology, on display at RadioShack’s new “Store One” in Fort Worth, will be particularly attractive to retailers developing concept stores, toy and other consumer product manufacturers for tours.
Variety of Services … for Many Clients
“In addition to advanced production capabilities, CRM also provides clients with a wide range of professional services such as Internet simulcast, network origination, digital satellite network integration, broadcast equipment installations, syndication up-linking, studio remotes and network news inserts,” Dunning said.
The Circle R Media facility, among the newest in the nation, “provides the D/FW Metroplex and North Texas with a competitive edge when compared to other production centers in terms of creating the finest video, animation, graphics and audio products for corporations, government and non-profit organizations – at a much more affordable cost than in some of the more established centers” said Tom Kirkhart, Circle R Media executive producer and marketing director. “We developed this facility to be one of the best, and to earn that distinction through our production capabilities, creativity and service.”
Circle R Media’s clients include RadioShack and other corporations, as well as a variety of non-profit, charitable and cause-related groups across the nation. In the D/FW Metroplex, for example, Circle R Media has produced effective and award-winning:
• Corporate videos and/or television advertising for Microsoft, Sprint, Pier One, Justin Boots, Dillards, Dickies, Blockbuster, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, Fort Worth Business Press and many others;
• Promotional campaign videos for fund-raising organizations such as JPS Partners for Health, Cowgirl Hall of Fame, Baylor University, Bass Performance Hall, Brit Botanical Research Institution of Texas, Southwestern Seminary, United Way and the Susan G. Komen Center.
Originally developed as a part of RadioShack Corporation, Circle R Media became a fully independent, privately owned production facility in January, 2005. RadioShack remains one of the Company’s many important clients. Circle R Media’s custom-designed production studios are located in the new complex developed by RadioShack in downtown Fort Worth.
The new CRM production facility is located at 300 RadioShack Circle, Fort Worth, Texas 76102-1964.
